2017 T. Boone Pickens Lifetime Sportsman Award Recipient Tom Brokaw

Park Cities Quail is proud to honor legendary News Anchor, Author, and Outdoorsman, Mr. Tom Brokaw as the 2017 recipient of the T. Boone Pickens Lifetime Sportsman Award, to be presented on March 2, 2017 at the 11th Annual Dinner and Auction at the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas. Originally from Webster, South Dakoka, Tom’s love of the outdoors and hunting dogs grew out of a childhood spent pheasant hunting on the plains, a passion that would only grow as he aged, even scheduling college courses to accommodate hunting season. Although he has traveled the world fly-fishing and wing shooting, he and his Labrador ‘Red’ return to his home state every autumn for Pheasant Season.

When 2012 Lifetime Sportsman Award recipient, Ted Turner, was asked about Tom being the 2017 recipient he said “Tom and I have spent many hours fly fishing and hunting wild quail. He is a nature lover, skilled sportsman and a joy to be with.”
